Obama is a chimp... but I don't mean that in a RACIST way...

Of course Tea Partiers aren't racist... they just see no problem sending out emails with pictures of the duly elected, and "swarthy skinned" President of the United States depicted as a chimpanzee, with the caption... "Now you know why no birth certificate."

Marilyn Davenport is not only a Southern California Republican Party official, but someone who should damn well know better.  But apparently she doesn't.

"Oh, come on! Everybody who knows me knows that I am not a racist. It was a joke. I have friends who are black. Besides, I only sent it to a few people--mostly people I didn't think would be upset by it."

Of course, everyone knows that "come on!" solves all problems between people.  It's just plain magic.  Just ask south park... Jimmy and Timmy show how it's done.

And everybody knows that having black friends means you are immune from being called a racist.  It's like some kind of voodoo talisman... I mean... oops.  I shouldn't have said that.  But I'm not a racist, I have black friends.  And besides... Come on!

Of course, everyone also knows that the tea party, for whom Marilyn Davenport is an activist, is NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES racist.  I couldn't possibly cite example after example after example of the tea party acting like the Klan sans the nifty outfits... oh wait, they do have nifty outfits!

And of course I couldn't link to an article which shows Marilyn Davenport making not one but three racist statements.

But none of that matters.  She only sent that email to people she knew wouldn't be offended.  Pray tell, Ms. Davenport... who is on this illustrious list of enlightened people who aren't offended by a picture of the president depicted as a baby chimpanzee? Just curious.  Because I know they aren't racists.
